Final Project

For my final project I wanted to shoot memory's. But that's not my final decision. Because I cant really make up my mind. But if I did do memory's some ideas would be things caught in time like happy moments such as birthdays. Sad moments could be something dying. I'm not sure there's so much i could do for a final project.

My list of projects:

Food-I could do before and afters, such as where the food started and over time it came to your table in a plastic bowl. Like corn. Or wheat for bread then becomes toast.

Things stopped in time-like a ball bouncing but that would be kind of hard. I have some ideas though like my dog when he runs at you. Or my sister's face after my Mom tells her she cant have oreo's before dinner.

Shadows- I could do the shadow of something such as a dile that could build to tell time as the sun rotates and the direction of the sun moves.

So these are just some ideas. I'm not sure how much i could expand on them. Because i want to do something creative.

Berenice Abbott

I think this shot is interesting because you can still see the buildings at night. I really like how you can see all the individual lights coming from the buildings.

This is a neat picture. I can see myself taking pictures of hands. Cause I do feet but I think I'll try hands. I really like how you can see the lines in this hands palm. I shows how the hand isn't calloused. So I'm guessing this person doesn't work in construction. So just these little details interest me.

This is a interesting picture because 0f all the writing on the background. I don't really like how the person is sitting behind the pole though it just doesn't work with the picture.

This is a Picture of Berenice Abbott. I really like this picture because you can see the lines set in her face. I think her outfit kind of shows her personality. Maybe how she sees herself is expressed through her expression or clothing. And the back ground contradicts what shes wearing.

At first i didn't know what it was. But if you really look hard you see that its a reflection. I have tried to take pictures like this but I just haven't taken the right one that would be as clear as this reflection is. I like the dark's of this picture, and how the shapes or the lines you can see in the water.

I'm not sure who this. I think how he's sitting is also interesting. And how hes not looking directly into the camera. He has a tired look on his face. Like he has had a long day or maybe something is wrong and hes exhausted.I don't like how his glasses at that angel make his eyes look super little though.

I really like this picture there is so much to it. I think its interesting how she makes this busy background work. And how you can see the little person in the corner trying to find a magazine. which it looks impossible because of all the magazines.

So I found her pictures and thought that they were amazing . And then I really liked her because she died on my birthday.
Berenice Abbott was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 17,1898. She moved around a lot when she was younger. As she developed her interests she went into journalism but decided she liked sculpture and theater. She nearly died during the influenza epidemic.
She studied sculpture two years in Paris in 1921. She first became interested in photography by a man named Man Ray. He wanted someone who didn't know much about photography. So Man Ray hired her as a dark room assistant. One of her quotes is "I took to photography like a duck took to water, I never wanted to do anything else."
Abbott's subjects were people in the artistic way and literary works.Man Ray introduced her to Eugene Atget. She admired his work and soon became inspired by him. Shortly after Eugene died. So she went back to New York to publish his works, but she never went back home to Paris. She closed her photography studio in Paris and moved to New York.
She documented many historical moments in New York. She also contributed to science documentation. Abbott started the "House of Photography" to promote photography.
Abbot was part of the straight photography movement. Her work was documentary and she contributed much to society.
Berenice Abbott died on December 9,1991;(my birthday Dec. 9,1993) in Monson, Maine.

Josef Sudek

Josef Sudek was an amazing photographer who could use light to his advantage.
He was born in 1896 in Kolin. He started out as a bookbinder and he stayed in that
job until 1913. No one really knows how he started photography. Or how he decide
to switch careers. But its believed that his sister Bozena Sudkova, who was a photographer;
is what got him interested.
Josef liked to take pictures of landscapes. If you notice almost all of his pictures don’t
Have people in them. He once said that “By the time he was set up they pedestrians had been and gone.” He preferred to take pictures with light, which he used, to his advantage. His pictures were simple and interesting to they eye. I think my favorite one is with the egg in front of the bread. The holes add detail to and already unique picture.

This is my favorite picture because I love to shoot eggs. And I think that the bread really adds contrast to the table and egg.

If you notice it’s another picture of and egg and something for it to contrast to. I like the lights and darks of this image.
This is a picture of Josef Sudek. I like this picture because it is so creative. And the lighting is so good.
Again he is using an egg as his main subject. I really like this picture because of the wood window frame.
